A Better Moving Company has moved both myself and various family members several times and have consistently been a pleasure to work with. Whether a short move or long distance the folks sent to do the move have been perfectly matched for the job. Professional and knowledgeable they have provided guidance and suggestions on packing, handling items and locating items back in the new destination. The culture of happy and productive folks shines through under the toughest situations. A great company to use, dependable and proven in meeting their time and cost commitments. Can’t say enough good things about this company.

We hired A Better Moving Company two months ago to move us. We were very happy with their service and would use them again. They were prompt, worked hard and were very organized. This is our seventh move in 17 years and this was the best movers we have had. Kyle, the leader was excellent.

Had a 9:00am appt for an estimate. They arrived at 9:42am and said “we get here when we get here.” That’s as far as we got because I prefer conscientious.

I have used Better Moving Company three times in the past 5 years. Each move was as good as you can get. Because I trust them, it has helped lessen the stress of moving knowing I can call them when needed. The first two moves, Better Moving helped us move both by mother and mother-in-law into smaller homes. They were careful in packing and moving and nothing was lost or broken. Both of my mom’s were very happy. My last move was more complicated because they had to pick up items from a storage unit and also move items from my former home to my new home. Steve, the manager and Sigrid, one of the owners, helped set things up and both were great about arranging everything to be the most cost efficient for us. The great crew also made sure all our furniture and boxes were moved into the appropriate rooms and would move them a second time if needed. Again, nothing broken and this third move was a big one! Every move cost just what they estimated. Overall great customer service, very professional, fast and hard-working movers.

BEWARE…..I lost 2 pieces of furniture to damage, they lost pieces to my outdoor furniture and did not care at all, my washer and dryer are damaged and they were hooked up incorrectly so now my new house has water damage, they damaged the front door to the house I sold by running into it with my refrigerator. There are actual footprints on the top of my washing machine from the “hookup” at my new house. I have a house full of furniture that they took apart and left in pieces in my new house. This was the most stressful awful time ever and I will be requesting my money back. I also just realized that I was charged for the hour they were gone for lunch. I am so heartbroken. This company boasts that they will take the stress out of the move-that was hardly the case. My problems are multiplying by the day as I find things that they were careless with. I would give them a zero if it were an option.

Will NEVER use this company again. Would NEVER recommend this company to any one. BE CAREFUL, they have ways of running up the cost with slow moving workers and excessive packing.
I lived in my 3000 sq. ft. home for 5 years. I hired this company to move us three and a half blocks to a 4000 sq. ft. home. This was 30 boxes and furniture (nothing excessive except a pool table). It took 4 men 12 hours to accomplish this. Two men, spent over 5 hours packing my average size kitchen. They wrapped every single item individually. Including double wrap for plastic items, which they were only moving 3 1/2 blocks. They would carry a box to the truck and spend 15 minutes placing the box in the truck. Never once did I see any of them break a sweat, even after several attempts by me to get them to pick up the pace. I picked up lunch for them, only one thanked me for the lunch, two ate double lunches. After 10 hours I told them to just unload the truck, I didn’t care about placement of boxes or furniture. One mover, asked me to go get them Starbucks because they were getting tired and that would help them move faster. Ironically, he was the one doing the least amount of work out of the bunch. In fact many times I found him just standing around watching! We started taking boxes from them because we could move much faster than they were. They also scratched and dented my washing machine. They charge by the hour with an extra $125 per hour for overtime. If they would have sent four men to actually work, and not excessively wrapped non-breakable items or stand around watching someone else work, this job would have been finished much quicker costing me hundreds of dollars less.
I have moved every 3-5 years for the past 20 years. This was the slowest, most expensive move I have ever had. I previously moved from a 5000 sq. ft. home to a 3000 sq. ft. home and the cost was 1/3 of this job. This was a quickly planned move and I didn’t have time to have them come give me an estimate. The house and job was described over the phone. We were told that it would take 4 men, two trucks, about 8 hours to complete and the cost would be similar to our previous move. They arrived on time and were polite. The two trucks were more than enough room, they brought plenty of supplies for the job described they just didn’t send movers to do the work. We phoned the owner who said, while the job took a long time his men assured him that they worked hard, it was late, and he would deal with it in the morning. In the morning he charged out credit card and then called us to resolve. His resolution was to not charge us for the boxes!

I should have known this company was horrible from the 1st time they missed my appointment, but we were in a tight spot and needed to move pretty quick. When moving day fianlly arrived, my husband did a majority of the work, as the movers were very slow and terrible at packing their own truck to maximize space. It took them all day, went way over our quote, and when they said they were done, it took my husband and I another 3 hours to move the rest of our belongings. When I called to complain about moving our own things after being charged over $1200, they offered a $100 refund, which to this day I’ve never seen. I would never recommend this company and hope to save the next person a huge headache.

I used A Better Moving earlier this year to move from Fair Oaks to the Pocket area in Sacramento. They were friendly, on time and my move went quickly. Pricing was exactly what I was quoted. I’d recommend A Better Moving to anyone and will use them again next time I need a move (hopefully not for a long time!).

In April, my husband and I contracted with A Better Moving & Storage Co to move our belongings from Sacramento, California to Valencia, Spain. They were recommended by a close friend who recently moved to West Africa. We had a lot of valuable antiques, old grandfather clock, and small furniture to be shipped overseas.

Steve Sterns, the manager of A Better Moving & Storage Co, assigned John and Steve as our packers and loaders. They were both very professional and conscientious. They were quick, careful, and thorough. We could not have asked for two better guys to pack all our belongings for our move.

We received our shipment last week. There were five pallets that came in the container. Absolutely NOTHING was broken!!! Everything was as it was when they wrapped, packed, and loaded it in Sacramento. We highly recommend A Better Moving & Storage Co, whether you are moving across town or across the world!!!

They were great, every one of my concerns was handled professionally, and immediately. I am very grateful to them for taking care of the heavy lifting.
